The causes of the overexpansion of gucci shoesthe finance industry Every agent takes a cut in the form of a spread or commission. But because financial products are complex or long-term in nature, the men gucci shoesclient may not realise the worst until it is too late. gucci on saleThe finance sector is thus able to earn a high level of gucci sneakers“rent” at the expense of its customers. Why are these rents not competed away? Probably because products are not transparent. Consider fund management. cheap gucci shoesThis is an industry with few barriers to entry and no firm has a dominant market share. One would expect feeswomen gucci to be driven down remorselessly. In some areas, such as index-tracking, that does happen. Butgucci shoes sale in the retail sector firms compete on the basis of past returns, not price. In the institutional sector fees for traditional fund management have dropped, but clients have been tempted into alternatives like hedge funds and private equity, where fees are much higher. guarantees (or the expectation of bail-outs in times of crisis) has reduced the cost of capital and thus increased returns. The high level of rents extracted by the industry may have self-reinforcing aspects, too. The rents translate into high salaries for employees, encouraging the brightest graduates to join the industry and devise more complex products to gain even higher rents (and to find new ways around regulations). The industry's profitability allows it to gain political influence, either through the funding of candidates or via the desire of governments to protect taxpaying businesses. All this helps explain why finance grew too big for its boots, even if it is impossible to put a figure on the scale of its overexpansion. Government bail-outs have also prevented the industry from shrinking as much as it might have. Such intervention means that it is now too late to insist on a purely free-market solution. And the scale of the rescue packages means that finance should pay some price. Governments cannot guess what the right size of the industry should be. But higher capital ratios would protect the taxpayer from future bank failures and limit the industry's profitability, while transparency might reduce the size of those rents.

Gucci will rap, despite concerns

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The show will go on. Despite concerns by an Albany City Commissioner about the offensive lyrics in Gucci Mane's rap songs, the artist is coming to Albany this weekend. Thursday, concert promoters and supporters gathered at the Civic Center to encourage people to attend the Saturday night event. If you're not a rap fan, you've probably never heard of Gucci Mane, let alone any of his music. But lots of people have and are excited about his performance here at the Civic Center Saturday night, which is still planned, despite worries from city commissioner Bob Langstaff. The tickets are selling. "I got two, for now," said fan Jasmine Jackson. And organizers want fans to know, Gucci Mane will be here in Albany this weekend. Promoter Gilbert Udoto said, "Gucci will be here Saturday performing." City commissioner Bob Langstaff wanted to block Gucci Mane's show. He said it's not the kind of performance that should be allowed in the Civic Center. That criticism actually gave the performer news coverage across the country, helping to sell tickets for the Albany concert. "People wondering why a person of this magnitude can be censored. This has never happened. The first amendment allows freedom of speech," said Udoto. It's a show Jasmine Jackson can't wait to see, and she's not alone. "My generation loves Gucci." But not everyone does. Kirby Browning spoke out at a gang task force meeting earlier today protesting the concert. "It's like going into Taliban territory to be around there if they insist on showing up," he said. But Albany rapper Tony B, who will also be on stage Saturday night, says Gucci Mane is no terrorist, and that the concert won't be violent, but fun. "I think it's going to be real big," he said, "it's going to be crazy." So far, about 1,000 tickets have sold. Organizers are hoping for it to sell out, but they've got lots of tickets to sell. This arena can hold about 10,000 people. The city attorney is currently investigating whether the city could develop an ordinance to bar certain acts from the civic center, but he told city commissioners he doesn't think there's any way that would be legal. Tickets for Saturday's show are on sale at the Civic Center box office and Odyssey records.

That's when the trendy diners spotted us, their looks of hungry anticipation turning to scowls of disgust.
